Rhine - "Dreaming of Death" (Premiere)

First impressions make a hell of a difference. Seattle’s Rhine know how to make a first impression. I saw them open for Lago in April of last year, and their blend of death metal and progressive rock helped them stand out in a lineup.

Rhine’s self-released debut, An Outsider makes a good first impression as well. It flirts with multiple ideas from outside the typical metal lexicon in the same way that Of the Dead by Satyrasis did.

Rhine has already premiered a couple songs from An Outsider at other outlets, but “Dreaming of Death” will still be the band’s first impression for many readers here—it’s also the first song on the album. Make yourself some tea and settle in for all eleven minutes of it.

Singer and guitarist Gabriel Tachell had this to say about the song: “One of our most progressive and somewhat psychedelic songs, it’s about a fucked up nightmare I had.”
