While the band have unquestionably moved into cosiderably more pop-oriented material in recently years, Boris‘s early legacy as devotees do sludgy riffs (the name is derived from a Melvins song, after all) is untouched. It was that earlier material that was the focus of their “residency tour”, playing a pair of shows in major markets that include a night devoted to Boris “classics” and another devoted to their drone favorite Flood. The tour’s Boston residency kicked off with a show at Brighton Music Hall in Boston, MA on May 4, 2013 with special guests Young Widows featuring their “classics” set, and continued on May 5th with Doomriders as part of their Flood set.
