North West Terror Fest 2017

Northwest Terror Fest Announces Full Lineup & Tickets

North West Terror Fest 2017

Today, we and our partners at No Clean Singing are pleased to announce the final bands to play Northwest Terror Fest. General Admission tickets are also on sale below. The second round of bands is as follows:

A God or an Other
One of Washington’s most engaging live acts, A God or an Other play black metal with an ever-so-slight hardcore edge, without skimping on progressive song structures. Their recordings don’t do them justice: live this band is a force to be reckoned with.

Aerial Ruin
The longtime folk project of Erik Moggridge, Aerial Ruin’s collaborated with Bell Witch and released a split EP with Stevie Floyd of Taurus and Dark Castle. Moggridge promises to add a little delicacy to the otherwise churning fare.

Amigo the Devil
Murderfolk? Alt Country? More like acoustic bar music for a booze-drenched night in the inferno.

Barghest
In-your-face and chaotic, Baton Rouge’s Barghest split the difference between black and death metal, but deliver their over-the-top assault with a down to earth hardcore snarl.

Burials
Progressive hardcore from Portland that goes easy on the vocals and the excessive noodling. They released a split with LA’s own Exhausted Prayer, which ought to prove their forward-thinking bona fides.

Cult Leader
Former members of Salt Lake City’s Gaza have created an even more uncompromising live act than its predecessor Cult Leader took no prisoners opening for Dillinger Escape Plan’s last Us Headlining tour, and they will offer no quarter while headlining Barboza.

Endorphins Lost
High speed crust and powerviolence from Seattle, Endorphins Lost have their fingers on our collective mosh pit triggers. If we’re nice maybe they’ll even play one of their spot-on Sepultura covers.

Fucked & Bound
This young project gives members of more contemplative acts Witch Ripper and He Whose Ox is Gored a more aggressive outlet for their most virulent condemnations. Unencumbered by her keyboard, Lisa Mungo is an intimidating frontperson, and her vocals push this band out of side project status and into “Sign Them Already” territory.

Goatwhore
A band that needs no introduction, but in case you missed the memo, crack open a beer and put on a “Who Needs A God When You’ve Got Satan” tee shirt and prepare for anthemic and moshy black metal mixed with sludge and thrash. Consummate road warriors, Goatwhore simply never misfire whether they’re playing a stadium or a basement with a generator – and they’ve played both.

Graves At Sea
Just because it took Graves at Sea 15 years to get their debut LP on the market doesn’t mean they don’t deliver the goods. This kind of abrasive sludge doom takes patience to take in, and their hyper-distorted atmosphere takes wherewithal to withstand.

Hands Of Thieves
40 miles of bad road. That’s how director James Cameron described his preferred, extended cut of classic space marine massacre ‘Aliens’. It also describes every extended slab of death sludge by Portland’s Hands of Thieves.

Infernal Coil
Idaho deathgrind of a very high, as in armor-piercing caliber. The brainchild of former Dead in the Dirt mainman Blake Connally, Infernal Coil distills the power of bands like Teitanblood down to concise strafing runs. Our own Bruce Hardt already sang the band’s praises in his hardcore column, What Assails You.

Marissa Nadler
The former indie siren and darling has long run in tandem with us on the dark side: collaborating with Xasthur, covering Black Sabbath, and opening for Ghost on their mighty Popestar tour. As hinted at in our interview, Marissa Nadler is ready to embrace the evil in her musical heart with a full band. Let us welcome her.

Noisear
Prolific workhorses and a powerful live unit, Nosiear have always been and will remain a murderer’s row of american grindcore’s most nasty —and speedy. Drummer Bryan Fajardo alone is a cannon battery disguised as a drummer. As a whole unit, they promise to leave Neumos a burnt out husk.

Old Iron
Seattle’s premiere sludge power trio doesn’t fall into wankery. Rather, expect atmosphere leavened with pummel, and just enough blue notes to keep the Pabst Blue Ribbon flowing down your gullet.

Recluse
NOLA powerviolence (no, not that other Recluse) that keeps momentum and mosh high on the priority list.

Rhine
Probably the best progressive death metal outfit in Seattle right now, Rhine take us back to the final days of Chuck Schuldiner’s Death and also imagine a few futures where that sound kept mutating.

Samothrace
Funeral doom sells Samothrace short. The long-running Seattle outfit brings progressive licks and complexity to their sweeping musical statements.

Sol
Ambient post-metal with a progressive edge and depth-charge bass tone. Five of Portland’s finest make bringing the most out of this sound look so easy.

Witch Ripper
Progressive sludge rock played with a psychedelic twist and at frightening volume. Witch Ripper earn their absurd and awesome monicker.

Wolves In The Throne Room
We practically had to, at this point. Olympia’s —and maybe America’s —finest contribution to black metal are finishing up a year long return to live prominence at what amounts to home turf. Those who have seen them live already know that Wolves in the Throne Room have a crowd-easing and vicious edge. Their opening night headlining set promises to be a nearly spiritual experience.

Yob
Mike Scheidt will make his triumphant post-surgical return to the stage at Neumos. Prepare the ground for the titanic riffs of Yob’s peerless US doom. Also, please, wear earplugs.

There will also be one secret headlining set, not to be announced. Because don’t we all love surprises?

Interested sponsors, volunteers and other parties can contact Joe Axler at [email protected].

The three day music festival will be held in Seattle, Washington at Neumos and Barboza from June 15th through 17th. Late shows and after parties will be held at The Highline. There’s already a Facebook event.

Weekend passes are now available at this location. $150 per pass. Individual stage passes will go on sale next Monday.
