Mesarthim - ".- -... ... . -. -.-. ."

mesarthim

Much on their own wavelength, Mesarthim explores space and returns with mysterious and amazing relics. The first run just last year delivered Isolate, expressive postmodern black metal with volumes of atmospherics. This defined a particular brand, a softer take on what’s normally (too) raw. Two EPs followed in less than a year. The rapid release schedule continues: listen to the newly-released second full-length from the Australian metaller(s), below. Yes, .- -... ... . -. -.-. . is really the title.

Bands like Void Omnia, Astronoid and Aureole each share components of what makes Mesarthim whole. Passive riffing through soft production cushions the artist’s howling. The departures in and out of intense moments are intense moments themselves: keys play a vital role. The synthy movements draw out goosebumps and foretell of grander blastbeat climaxes. Darkness surrounds the light, as the album artwork could suggest.
