Melvins cover Butthole Surfers in Chicago ice cream stunt

Remember that surprise Melvins show in Chicago? The one discussed on our Facebook page? Turns out it was part of a larger stunt that would see the boys perform “Graveyard” by Butthole Surfers at a park in front of an ice cream truck. The crowd, minimal at best, seems more concerned with the free ice cream in the back of the band than the performance itself, something that Melvins are most likely very happy with (knowing their sense of humor). Check out the video, featuring the lineup of Buzzo, Dale, Coady and Matt Pinkus, below.

The show was part of the Melvins recent 30th anniversary tour, which hit House of Vans in late July. If you missed it, check out pictures from the show.

The band is readying a new LP called Tres Cabrones with original drummer Mike Dillard.
