Megadeth, Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, & Butcher Babies @ Prudential Center (pics, setlists)

Megadeth are currently on a big headlining tour with some pretty cool openers, and they hit the NYC-area’s big Prudential Center this past Friday (10/14). The thrash OGs played a lot of this year’s Dystopia, plus classics like “Peace Sells,” “Hangar 18,” “Symphony of Destruction,” “Tornado of Souls,” “Wake Up Dead,” and many more. The other bands (not surprisingly) played shorter sets, but we got more veteran thrash from Suicidal Tendencies and Metal Church, a nice dose of Swedish melodeath from Amon Amarth, and a very animated show from Butcher Babies, who replaced neo-thrashers Havok on the tour. (Apparently Havok were kicked off “due a dispute with their now former management team at Mustaine Management”).
