Magrudergrind - "Black Banner" (Song Premiere)

unnamed1

Also being posted by our BrooklynVegan brethren today in a co-premiere, New York via DC grindcore monsters Magrudergrind are prepping their new LP II, which is out February 12 on Relapse. BrooklynVegan already posted the new song “Sacrificial Hire,” and now we’re co-premiering the newly revealed track “Black Banner.” This new song is much less overtly grindy than “Sacrificial Hire.” It’s a comparative slow-burn, a 3-minute statement on pure crush and groove that works with chugging guitar figure and twists it into new shapes that, just when you’ve got a good head-bob going, yank your neck in another direction. You can stream it below.

Magrudergrind are touring behind the new album. They’ve got an NYC show at The Acheron on February 19 with Mutilation Rites, Triac and Incendiary (tickets) before they head on a long run of European dates with Primitive Man. After that they’ll play that huge Decibel Show in Philly and head on a US tour with Yautja, although those dates have yet to be announced.

You can pre-order II over at Relapse now. Stream “Black Banner,” along with “Sacrificial Hire” and another new song called “Regressive Agenda” below.
