IO Exclusive Album Stream: The Howling Wind's "Of Babalon"

Also known as The Scarlet Woman or The Great Mother, Babalon was first established in writings by occultist Aleister Crowley in 1904. Crowley himself was  known as The Great Beast 666, and while the lady Babalon was held in high regard as a liberated and invigorating woman, she was also often described as ‘riding the beast’. You get the idea. She was held in high regard in more ways than one.

Over 100 years later, black metal band The Howling Wind has found a way to tell her story once again in the music and lyrics of their newest album, Of Babalon. Recorded by Colin Marston (Krallice, Dysrhythmia, Gorguts), the album starts with a slow, static build but quickly takes you to deep, down below to all things dark and unholy.

Set for a July 17th release, we will be streaming the album for one full week up until its release. It’s imperative you pick up your own copy, though, as we can’t let you hear the exclusive bonus track that comes with a purchase of the full record!
