Invisible Oranges Live! Serpentine Path, Fórn, and Vilkacis

Invisible Oranges is very pleased to present Serpentine Path, Fórn, and Vilkacis on Sunday, January 4 at Saint Vitus in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Tickets, just ten bucks, are on sale now. Keep up to date on the show over on the event’s Facebook page, and we’ll keep you posted via social media, too.

We were lucky to play host to Serpentine Path at their release show back in June. Their mix of sludge, death and doom is particularly vile, a mid-paced tortured groan from the former members of Unearthly Trance and ex-members from Winter and Electric Wizard. (Two of those Unearthly Trance members, Ryan and Jay, are now in a new excellent doom/rock/experimental band Humanless, who just played an IO/Chaos Bodies-presented show with Psalm Zero, Buckshot Facelift and Bloodmist.) Give Emanations, Serpentine Path’s latest, a listen.

Boston’s Fórn, on the other hand, put out an EP in July, The Departure of Consciousness, that was one of the heaviest releases of the year. We premiered the monstrous doom/sludge track “Dweller on the Threshold,” and it will be great to see the earth shaking riffs, phlegm-caked vocals and mournful melodies translated live.

Lastly, Vilkacis. The black metal band from Fell Voices, Vorde and Ruin Lust’s Michael Rekevics plays some of the most furious, intense, and ready for war anthemic black metal out there. Their EP, streaming below, is fantastic, and their live performance is extremely intense, completely irreverent and not to be missed—so show up on time. See you there.
