Perhaps you’ve read a few articles on the excellent website Metal Bandcamp, which publishes far more reviews than we do here, all of bands who have music available on that service. They do not only review metal, however; some of their articles are tagged “metal adjacent,” meaning music that is not metal in a strict sense, but is of interest to lovers of the genre.

Deathwhite is not metal, but is absolutely metal adjacent. Loosely speaking a dark pop project, the band specializes in the sort of crestfallen and eyeliner-friendly jams that Anathema have made their stock and trade.

Solitary Martyr is the follow-up to last year’s Ethereal EP. Both are self released and if you listen to them back-to-back, they approximate one pretty killer album. Here’s hoping Deathwhite has a full-length in the works.
