Deafheaven touring w/ DIIV (Halloween in NJ); Uniform share song, tour dates

Deafheaven are on a North American tour now with Drab Majesty and Uniform supporting their great new album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love (we recently caught them in Brooklyn), and that will be followed by a Europe/UK tour with Inter Arma. They’ve now announced that, upon landing back in the US, they’ll do another tour with support from shoegazy band DIIV. That tour includes a Halloween (10/31) show at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall, and Deafheaven and DIIV is a pretty appropriately eerie double bill to see on Halloween. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/3) at 10 AM. Updated dates are listed below.

Deafheaven also released a video for “Night People,” one of the highlights off their new album, which features backing vocals from Chelsea Wolfe and electronics by Chelsea’s frequent collaborator Ben Chisolm. Chelsea stars in the video and Ben directed it. Watch below.

Speaking of Uniform, they just dropped the second single from their upcoming album The Long Walk, which comes out August 17 via Sacred Bones. It’s called “Alone in the Dark” and it’s a real noise-punk crusher that shows Uniform sound pretty furious with a live drummer (after using a drum machine on previous records, they made this one with Greg Fox of Liturgy, Ex Eye, and other bands). Listen below. After touring with Deafheaven, they’ll open Thou‘s release show for their new album Magus, which drops August 31 via Sacred Bones and follows Thou’s recent EP trilogy. That show happens 9/1 at Knitting Factory Brooklyn with Sunrot also on the bill (tickets).

After that, Uniform will go on a collaborative tour with The Body, with whom they released the collaborative album Mental Wounds Not Healing earlier this year. Author & Punisher is opening. That tour wraps up at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel on November 17. Tickets for that show will be on sale soon. Updated Uniform dates are listed below.
