Archgoat box set, new Blut aus Nord album

[audio: ARCHGOAT_GOATANDTHEMOON.mp3]

The long-in-the-works Archgoat box set has arrived, courtesy of Debemur Morti. Celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary, it comes in three configurations: 2CD, 2LP, and 2CD + 2LP, which is pictured above. Disc 1 is sort of a greatest hits compilation. It includes demos, unreleased tracks, and selections from Archgoat’s two albums. (You can hear “Goat and the Moon” from 2009’s The Light-Devouring Darkness above.) Disc 2 includes live tracks from Krakow, Houston, and Helsinki. All editions come with a 20-page booklet. Debemur Morti says that half of this one-time pressing has already sold out. The various editions are available here.

Even bigger news is the release of the new Blut aus Nord album. Titled Liber I, it is the first album of a series called “What Once Was”, “dedicated to a very pure approach to Black Metal”, whatever that means. Currently, this is a vinyl-only release (see below), but demand for other formats is surely high. This gatefold 12″ is available here.

Upcoming for Blut aus Nord: vinyl editions of Ultima Thulée and The Work Which Transforms God, a double disc reissue of The Mystical Beast of Rebellion which will add new liner notes and a second disc of new material, new music from side project 777, and splits with Rebirth of Nefast and Way to End. For full details, see here.
