Last year, Finnish death metal vets Festerday released their first-ever full-length album, Iihtallan, on Season of Mist. This year, very related black metal band …and Oceans — who formed out of the ashes of Festerday in the ’90s but broke up in ’05 which led to the formation of related band Havoc Unit who have been broken up since 2013, which was also the year Festerday reformed — are also back and releasing their first new album in 18 years. (Make sense???) It’s called Cosmic World Mother, it drops May 8th via Season of Mist, and the first single is “The Dissolution of Mind and Matter” which finds these guys in very fine form.
