I know what you’re thinking. Yes, the above cover for Cities looks like a minimal version of something that would show up on a Voivod record. Well, that isn’t far off.

Away, as you may already be familiar, is Michel Langevin of the legendary Voivod, who will release his solo debut Cities via Utech Records. The LP, a combination of field recordings, musique concrète and collage, was recorded in various locations over a two year period, with portions recorded in Montreal, Chicago, Europe and Mexico City. Its a fascinating listen, and one you can own via Utech Records on July 27th. Stream Away’s Cities in full below.
