California’s Seven Sisters of Sleep feature members of Tafkata and Arm and Sword of a Bastard God, and after a promising debut LP on A389 Records, they’re back with a vengeance. Enter Opium Morals, the band’s new LP due via A389 Records on March 20th. Sludge, doom and hardcore make up the majority of this release, with occasional blasts to keep you on your feet. Stream two tracks from the LP including “Orphans” which is available for the first time below.
SSoS is also on board for a split 7″ with DC doom steamroller Ilsa due on Record Store Day. Look for that release to hit on the same day as some other A389 releases: Ilsa’s The Maggots Are Getting Hungry limited 12″, a reissue of Ringworm’s 1991 demo, and Like Rats‘ self-titled 7″.

Amazing song. Reminds me a lot of my band Pale Creation!
Thanks IO. This is definitely my bag, baby.
On a related note, I just got Ilsa’s _Intoxicantaions_ in the mail the other day and, while I’ve only had a chance to listen to it a couple of times, I really like it. It’s pummeling and ugly, but the riffs are hooky enough to get lodged in your head.
Who did the artwork for this? Looks like something Benjamin Vierling (Weapon, Deiphago, etc. ) would do.
I think the rendering is way too shitty to be Benjamin Vierling…
With every release these dudes just keep getting tighter and tighter. We need an east coast tour.
You might just get your wish
It’s no Pale Creation but it’s pretty damn good!
Pale creation probably sucks moose cum compared to this
