Possibly following in the footsteps of Bison B.C., Swedish metal crew Ghost have changed their name to Ghost B.C., citing legal reasons. The change that will be reflected on their forthcoming LP Infestissumam due later this spring. No word as to whether the change could be related to the Michio Kurihara project or one of the many other bands with the same name.
As discussed, Ghost B.C. will hit the road for a string of North American dates with Ides of Gemini after a kickoff at Coachella.

I think Ghost is fun, but that is kind of ridiculous. They should have just put an umblaut over the “o.”
Then again, I own records from both Swedish Ghost and Japanese Ghost, so this solves an alphabetization dilemma for me.
I guess they got sick of all of us reminding them that the Japanese Ghost is a much better band…
So true…
‘All of us’? As in the fifteen or so people on Invisible Oranges who prefer the Japanese band to this one?
I’m sure that’s the reason.
Japanese Ghost were actually called The Ghost, right?
No – just Ghost. Check out “Lama Rabi Rabi”
He’s probably think of the English band The Ghost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNWghXEZFOM
That’s super stupid.
“B.C.” actually makes sense in Bison’s case, considering they’re from British Columbia. I realize that the initials could stand for a number of things, but this seems like a weird choice.
How about Gojira, Baroness, Kevelerrekerkek, and Ghost (BC) all form a band called Aids BC and we can all finally agree that the name and music are worthy of each other.
ah, the proof in the pudding. A snapshot consensus that Ghost is an overrated semi-okay band.
A snapshot consensus is the the best kind of ‘proof’.
I recognize that these are words, but in this order, they don’t make any sense. Are you trying to say that the name change is somehow proof (as based on a “snapshot consensus”, which sounds like what happens when you ask three people a question and get the same answer from all of them) that they are an “overrated semi-okay band”? And why not just say “overrated”? Doesn’t “overrate” imply “semi-okay”? Can you be an amazing band and be overrated?
Is it the melody and accessibility? Is it the campy theatrics? Do those bother you? Is it upsetting when people aren’t uber-serious about their eeeeevviiiiiiiil?
Cliff, well aren’t you the clever one, yes? Thank you for taking the time to overanalyze my comment. I didn’t know it would take one so much effort to twist and turn such a simple comment. But cheers to you for being on a deeper plane than myself. How about this, the music isn’t that good and it is overrated, simple and clear enough? Now go play with your little buddies and protect you what you find so dear, yet in reality mediocre. Fuckboy…
BC quite clearly stands for “Before Christ”. You know Ghost, right? That wacky anti-christian Satanic band?
B.C. = Before Chaos
