The much rumored Opeth / Katatonia trek, dubbed “North American Heritage,” has come to fruition. Though dates are still trickling out, look for the pair to hit the road in late April and into May with dates as far south as Florida and beyond. All known dates are below, and we’ll update this post as more shows become available. UPDATE: full tour announced
The dates are Opeth’s third trek to the US since releasing Heritage in 2011. Opeth’s first tour as part of the Heritage album cycle also featured Katatonia, while the second set of dates featured Mastodon and Ghost (check out pictures from the NYC and Chicago dates).

I saw this same bill in Louisville a year and a half ago. I wonder if the sets will be different enough to warrant the short drive to Indianapolis.
Well, there’s an even shorter drive to Lexington, which clinches it for me. Don’t know how I missed that earlier.
This was one of my favorite tours that year. I will gladly see them again.
There’s also a show April 19 at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. It might not be listed because the venue is still under construction due to damages from Hurricane Sandy. They might be open by then, though.
The Roxy, huh? That might warrant seeing them again (even though I saw them on both of the most recent tours). Roxy is a damn intimate/small venue with no barrier, so that could be really interesting. If the setlist is no different then I’m not sure though. (Also, for the love of holy fuck! how about three Bloodbath songs at the end of each night?… is that really too much to ask for North American fans who have never really seen that?!?!?!?!?)
And never-fucking-mind. They’re playing Southern California when MDF is happening.
