It’s a good problem. Great options for East Coast-ers on January 19th made it tough to decide between names like Neurosis, Converge/Pig Destroyer (pictures here), Left for Dead or one of four shows for the reunited Catharsis. Pictures from the latter at the sold-out Acheron in Brooklyn, NY adorn this post.
The political metal-core band was joined by a reunion from NYHC crew Deathcycle (mems of the current Black Anvil), black-metal/hardcore nihilists Gehenna and young Canadian hardcore crew Withdrawal. Withdrawal, Gehenna and Catharsis were on the East Coast as part of the annual A389 Anniversary show, which also featured a reported “one-time only” appearance from Left for Dead, in addition to appearances from Integrity, Despise You, Lack of Interest and others.
Meanwhile across Brooklyn, Neurosis was tearing down Brooklyn Masonic Temple with noise sets from Carlos Giffoni and James Plotkin/Tim Wyskida. BrooklynVegan has a review and a set of pictures, but head below for video of all three in action.
