Too many “menageries” in the Aluk Todolo part. Seems like a great show. I gotta get the new album already. Nice photos.
Oh yes – just dialled up Occult Rock on the Youtube and this is RIGHT up my street – you mention Acid Mothers, I’m really hearing Boredoms too, in their peerless Vision Creation Newsun period… Thanks for the tip, I’ll definitely be picking this up.
I think the Acid Mothers Temple comparison is pretty good. There was a moment during the performance that I saw where it struck me that they were quite similar to Earthless, if Earthless plunged down into the void instead of up into the stars.
Love Aluk Todolo, love the new album. Hate that I haven’t had a chance to see ‘em live. Two outta three ain’t bad, though.
It’s well worth mentioning (for those who might not know) that Aluk Todolo also exist non-instrumentally and non-improvisationally as Diamatregon (personal picks: Blasphemy for Satan and Crossroad), and 2/3 of them record as Gunslingers, whose 2008 album No More Invention is the kind of prime psychedelic garage punk skronk that would make Lester Bangs ejaculate all over his copy of the Count Five’s Carburetor Dung if he’d lived long enough to have heard it.
Aluk todolo you are the star,,, your music is awesome
