“I’m Better Than Everyone Records was created with the goal to resurrect the experience of listening to music as it was intended. We believe that music should be an organic experience, where one is welcomed to participate in the artist’s vision at creating their art both sonically and visually.”
Indeed, this new boutique label is strictly old-school. It releases only lavishly packaged vinyl, CD’s be damned. So far it has put out slabs by Deadbird, Hail!Hornet, Black Skies, and Power Pellut. Up next are a triple-gatefold reissue of Eyehategod’s Confederacy of Ruined Lives, a live album by US Christmas, a split by Samothrace and The Roller (with artwork by Kylesa’s Laura Pleasants), and a four-way split of Louisiana bands The Devil and the Sea, Thou, Haarp, and A Hanging (with artwork by Stephen Kasner). Whew!
Black Skies – NomadPower Pellut – The Gambler (demo)
I’m giving away vinyl copies of the Black Skies and Power Pellut releases. These are absolutely beautiful (see above), with gatefold packaging and 180 gram vinyl, limited editions of 500. That Tom Denney artwork for Black Skies, which stretches across the gatefold panels, must be seen to be believed. I’ll also throw in a CD copy of Power Pellut’s The Three-Headed Monster demo. For a chance to win, email invisibleoranges at gmail dot com by midnight EST, Thursday, August 27 with the subject header “V is for vinyl” and your full name and address. I will pick a winner randomly.

I believe these guys are putting out the Slow Southern Steel DVD too? I can't wait for that!
Yeah this is great,I can remember growing up on vinyl – a much more rewarding experience – pulling out the album ,dropping the needle on the plastic, sounds generating from the speakers, picking up the album again, Looking at the artwork ,opening up the gatefold, mesmerized by Alice Cooper's eyes on "Love it to death",the freaky pics. of King Crimson's- "In the court of the crimson king",the sacrifice at the castle on Led Zeps.-"Houses of the holy",Sabbaths – "Vol. 4" Gezzer wailing out on the translucent bass. I remember buying Iron Maidens-"Killers" just because the cover was killer and when I first played it I was hooked.A storm of light/Nadja-"Primitive North" gotta be one of the best this year so far everything about it = excellent, the packaging the artwork, the blue/white swirling plastic ,and the sounds contained within are great. With an album you become more attached to the music, more involved,an enhanced listening experience."Rock on"
great label and great albums.
SO WHO WAS THE WINNER?/
