There is a lot going on at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on July 31.
Repulsion – Maggots in Your Coffin
- Repulsion, Pig Destroyer, and Brutal Truth are playing. Each is drool-worthy. Having all three is, like, mind kaput. Repulsion will play their classic album Horrified in its entirety. I saw them at L.A. Murderfest last year, and they killed. If they’re even half as good, and PD and BT hold up their ends of the bargain, the venue will turn into a slimy sea of blown minds.
- This is the release party for Decibel’s Hall of Fame book Precious Metal
. (See details here.) It’s too late to look for a summer fling, so this is the next best thing. Heavier, too. Summer flings = indie rock. Nerding out about albums = metal.
- This is the first show in the Blackened Music Series. Adam Shore is the promoter. He put on the legendary Neurosis/Mastodon shows at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple last year that people are still talking about. The second show features Sunn O))) and Earth at the BMT on September 22.
I am giving away a pair of tickets to the show, which is a week from today. (Doors @ 7:30, flyer here, 317 Clermont Ave. @ Lafayette Ave., Brooklyn) For a chance to win, email invisibleoranges at gmail dot com by midnight EST, Sunday, July 26, with the subject header “Gods of Grind” and your full name. I will randomly choose a winner.

But will Brandon Stosuy be there?!
Stew, I believe he is already seeing someone.
where can i get one of those repulsion -we're an american band stickers/shirts/etc?
ben, I don't see that design anywhere in their various merch sites. It might just be an Internet thing. You could make one yourself, though!
Whatever.
I'll bathe in soy latte and wear a really fitted WITTR tee. Whoever he's with won't stand a chance.
