Slayer has teamed up with Vans for a spiffy series of branded shoes. The “Vans x Slayer pack,” which the venerable Umlaut worked on, features a slip-on and three hi-tops, including a white one for old-school thrashers. Vans also has some rather bitchin’ Iron Maiden and Bad Brains shoes. You can find all this at the Vans store here.
This is Slayer’s second collaboration with Vans. The first was the “Slayer Old Skool” – see below. I loved its simplicity. If you saw me during the last four years, I was probably wearing this shoe.
I’d wear my Slayer shoes while reading the Slayer anthology in one hand and eating the Slayer burger @ Kuma’s on the other.
And oh by the way, I hope they release hi tops with the artwork from Live Undead, Haunting The Chapel and Hell Awaits.
I am wearing my Iron Maiden Vans (the ones with the artwork from “The Trooper” single) right now.
Oh man, if I got those I’d have to take my Reign In Blood skateboard down off the wall and put trucks and wheels on it.
bacon – then those shoes could match the skate decks for all those albums (thanks for the tip, Graeme).
pdf – that’s great. I’m partial to the Powerslave ones. So loud!
I’m saving my pennies for new Gucci’s new Metallica lambskin loafers.
I won’t buy them unless Manolo Blahnik gets in on the action.
I’m still waiting for my Dark Tranquillity shower curtain and Opeth bath towels.
